After camp all last week, we had Friday off so it was a MUCH needed 3 day weekend. :] Got to catch up on some sleep and some R&R. Yesterday evening me and Jennifer went on a walk after doing a little workout and on the way back I couldn't help but notice how lucky I am to have a father like I do. Now I'm not talking about you dad, even though I am extremely lucky to call you mine, but i'm talking about each and everyone of our father, up there in the sky. This was the view I saw on my walk back home...breathtaking.
Sometimes I think God likes showing off and just making it clear that with him anything is possible. All morning and afternoon it was rainy and cold, then when he finished our day he did it with this beautiful sunset.
We sang this song alot at camp and I think it fits perfectly with this picture.
Its called Indescribable by Chris Tomlin
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.

Sometimes I think we take for granted the little things in life. But what we sometimes don't realize is that the little things usually turn out to be the big things in life that mean the most. Just ask yourself what would you have tomorrow if God only gave you what you thanked him for today..I honestly would have little to nothing. So with that said...give THANKS to the Lord because you didn't get where you are or have what you have without his help. Don't take the little things for granted..stop and look at the sunsets, smell the air, count the stars. We get so busy with our day to day routine that those things just become nothing of importance.
I was reading a book tonight that was called Hope in the Dark. It was a book of pictures that these two people had taken on their trip to Africa. It was a book of faces of people they met, something I would absolutely LOVE to do one day. Anyways one of the pictures was a man and next to it this was written:
"We know that Americans pity Africans," he told me. "But sometimes I think Africans pity Americans."
"How so?" I asked him
"Americans seem to expect that everything will be provided for them. For us", he said,"this ear of corn is a gift from God. This evening's rain is a shower of mercy upon us. This healthy breath is life-giving. And, maybe tomorrow we will not have such things, but our heart's are so full from God's provision."
So if anything, I hope you give thanks for the simple things because I promise you, in the end, that is what will bring you the most joy!
sending love to all yall back home!
:]
