Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

weekend gettaway

Well after a long weekend away, we are back in Kommetjie and it feels nice to be 'home'. Herold bay was fantastic...but the weather on the hand not so much. We left here Thursday morning and the sun was shining the WHOLE way there. Once we were about 5 miles away from the town the clouds came out of no where and stayed all weekend. Besides that the weekend was very relaxing. I brought the 3rd and final book of the Hunger Games series and of course finished it within the first 2 hours of getting there. ps CANNOT wait for the movies to come out. the first one comes out here a month after it does in the US which is annoying but oh well. I absolutely recommend that series! haha who would of ever thought i'd be the one recommending a book. not I
Anyways back to my weekend away. I kept telling everyone it was our spring break since everyone back home was on theres. Ours was just automatically better because well....were in South Africa. Can I please let it be known that when we walked into our condo my jaw might of dropped. This place was SO nice I was quite surprised. Here's some pictures :]
what you see when you walk in the door. && that back there is completely open
 Kitchen Area
 patio overlooking the beach
&& it was always empty! practically our own private beach
 view from the outside in.

haha the first thing jennifer said when she walked in was dang, I had no idea missionaries lived like this! They were like yeah for one weekend every year! But we were very blessed to have outstanding accommodations. I spent the majority..well pretty much all my time..sitting on the patio soaking up the sun and playing solitaire on my phone and listening to the ocean. fantastic
I think the last night was my favorite, all us girls sat around and just talked about who we'd date(celebrity status) given the chance. Even the guys would pipe in every now and then. It was nice just getting some quality girl time since I hang out with mostly guys back home! THEN we all went down to the basement and played pool and ping pong. SO.MUCH.FUN..mostly because of the people I was with. They could probably make any boring time fun.

Now you can't have all this without at least one thing going wrong. Yes the clouds were a bit of a downer but the sun found its way to us a few times. BUT Sunday morning Danielle woke up in intense pain. Tim and Amy took her to the hospital to find out that she had a kidney stone! She went in at 5, had surgery at 9 and was back with us at 1. INSANE, especially for Africa because now never means now. they went in and put a splint in because the stone was huge, so she'll be having surgery at the end of this week to get it out. So everyone say a little prayer for her!

Everyone's slowly coming to the realization that I LOVE Texas. I mean who wouldn't. Meagan still calls us Texas Rangers and today actually she brought me a cowboy hat to wear during our block party. But the Sunday morning before we left to come back home, I walked into the living room to see the movie 8 Seconds being played. Now that is a true story about a bull rider named Lane Frost..anyways I walked in and was like OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS MOVIE..one of the actors is actually playing this guys dad that I know. And immediately everyone just kind of laughed and said we were just waiting for you to come in saying something like that. haha

Another fantastic thing about this weekend was the drive back. We went a little farther south off the main N2 and took our picture at the Southern most tip of Africa! So cool to say I've been a the absolute very bottom of Africa.
::PROOF::

jennifer really wanted to do the typical 'jumping' picture.
needless to say we were real good at it. haha
attempt one - she wins
 attempt two - i win
Where the Indian and Atlantic ocean come together
this beautiful flower was just growing in between all these rocks. No other flowers around. turned out to be quite a good picture if I say so
Whoop! Next one I want is with a Equator sign.
sunset on the way home....I live in a BEAUTIFUL place.

Anyways hope all you people out there reading this...which im sure there are a TON hehe jk..but really hope your enjoying lifes adventures. Each day is a new one and I'm thankful God has picked me to walk this journey. With him the impossible is possible

"We each have a destiny, a legend that only we can live. To embrace it is scary and dangerous, and most choose not to. Most put it off until tomorrow, until after highschool, until after college, until after establishing a financial base. Can't they see? We only get one shot at this life. Tomorrow may never come. The time is now! Not to drop everything and move to Africa, but to find the passion that is inside us and embrace it, to listen to its subtle whispers"
