Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

About that time...

Well for those who didn't know...I finally graduated from ACU with my degree in Family Studies! *pat on the back* The 4 & 1/2 years I was there shaped me into the person I am today and wouldn't have traded anything about it! I have met some friends that will forever be in my life and I am beyond grateful for each and every one of them.

But....there's one in particular that you are about to be introduced to. Miss Jennifer Lewis! The fall of our sophomore year we met in Oxford, England! We both studied abroad through ACU and became great friends. The best part about this story is that she lived ACROSS the hall from me in my dorm freshman year but we never spoke a single word to each other. Talk about unsocial! haha :]

This was the first picture we took together. It was an airport in Spain. I have a feeling she thought I was quite strange from the get go....but let's be honest...you might too after seeing this picture.

I believe our friendship officially happened when we went to Greece together. I like to think that she realized the 'strange' person she thought I was...was just someone a little bit crazy, outgoing, and would do anything for a good laugh. As shown below.

We went to Athens and an island called Santorini where Mama Mia && the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants was filmed. It was absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't believe how beautiful this tiny island was. It was everything I thought Greece looked like and more. Though I am thankful for the experiences I gained while there, Im most thankful for this friendship!

Soooo there is a small little background on Jennifer and myself. Here's where all that comes into play..
IM GOING BACK TO AFRICA!!!
I know I know Im sure yall are all just completely shocked! hehe. Unfortunately I won't be going back to Ghana this time. I have committed to going to Cape Town, South Africa for 8-9 months. I will be working with an organization called Living Hope and Jennifer will be going with me. We are both extremely excited to see how God uses our talents...as well as our weaknesses to witness to those of South Africa. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sad Im not getting to go see my kids in Ghana, but they're part of my family now...so I know I'll see them again someday soon. Whether on this earth or one day in Heaven.

:Here's to:
Memories
Laughs
inside jokes
growing friendships
new experiences
difficulties
things not going our way
beautiful South African Accents ;)
new friends
but most importantly...
being a light to those who have been left in the dark.

J.Love! I just adore you and your humble heart. I couldn't be more excited to go on this new adventure with you! I guarantee there will be a fair share of ups and downs but we can dooooo it! Thank you for being such an example of how every woman of God should be like. Your want for God to completely immerse you in every aspect of life is just captivating. I am beyond grateful to call you not only my friend...but my sister in Christ. Can't wait for this CrAzY AWESOME journey we are about to embark on!!! love you lady.
