Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Holiday Club week #2

well 2nd week of Holiday Club is officially over. SO.EXCITED. only one more week and then my life is back to normal. There was a team here working with us this past week so they did most of the planning and story..crafts..etc. It was nice to sit back and relax for a bit. But besides being out in the Townships from 8am till 4:30...my life has nothing too exciting to fill yall in on.

OH. Happy 4th of July!!! I know im 2 days late on that but oh well..this was the 3rd year I was not in the country for the 4th. It's one of my favorite holidays too. Love setting off/watching fireworks. Surely someone I know will have a few still left over for when I get back home. Doubtful..but I can hold on that little bit of hope. :]

Anyways sorry this post is a bit bland, but wanted to update it so yall know I'm still doing real good!

 Teens Club

Well last night a group of us got together and went and ate dinner at one of our favorites, The Toad. It was for a farewell dinner in honor of Lesli. She is heading back home to Tennessee today! Can't believe she is on a plane as I'm writing this. Yesterday when we were up at the main office in Capri all the Life Skill Educators got together and just had a time to tell her what she's meant the last 11 months that she has been here. She is truly a light to those in Red Hill as well as everyone else she encountered here at Living Hope. I am beyond blessed to call her my friend.

I remember the last goodbye dinner we had was a little over 3 months ago and we all said Lesli was next! That time FLEW by...it's almost scary because I am leaving here in about 3 1/2 months. Jennifer and my farewell dinner is next. We are going to be the next long term volunteers to leave! I was talking to Eric the other night and mentioned that to him and he said he thinks Africa has had me long enough. I just laughed but I think his statement is becoming a reality. I know the moment I leave this place I will be so sad, sad to leave my kids that I've formed relationships as well as the staff that I worked with everyday. Sad to leave this unbelievably gorgeous place. This last week in Teens Club, we had a contest to see which group could clean up the most trash in so much time. Well we took the winners to McDonalds. On the way over to get the teens in Overcome, I was driving and Stacey was with me. I took the long way through the community and while driving there were at least 10 kids that ran along the car yelling our names or doing a dance when they saw us drive by. After many laughs and smiles Stacey said October is going to be one sad day...I can't even think about it. I was like WHAT IN THE WORLD! debbie downer. but at the same time it was reassuring to hear that my presence here hasn't only been for the kids but for her..ilana..meagan..roger and enrico as well. these LSE's have become family and if I can touch just a small part of their lives while being here I did my job.

At this moment I can say that in a few years I will be able to look back on this and smile because it was life && I decided to live it!

well pray for all of us LSE's for our LAST week of holiday club. wooo hopefully no one gets too run down. hope everyone back home is happy and healthy
:]
